The PAGENAME is a battle in the Rhana Dandra, End Timeswhere Phoenix King Tyrion attempted to claim Everqueen Alarielle, his former lover, for himself but failed.1c 1d
History
Phoenix King Tyrion declared to his followers that Everqueen Alarielle the Radiant had returned to Avelorn and gathered his forces at Duskwide as he prepared to reclaim her. They marched on Withelan where the Everqueen had made her court noting that the forests of Avelorn had begun to resemble Athel Loren.1a
Arriving at Withelan, they found the the silken tents of the court of the Everqueen with Alarielle herself waiting in the very centre of the glade. The whole area was lit by caged magic and lanterns but she shone brightest. As we as her own Maiden Guard, the Asrai stood protectively with her including Orion and Araloth.1a
Tyrion stated he had come, as the Phoenix King to claim her as his queen but she replied that Your soul has hollowed, and Khaine has poured himself into the void. You are not worthy of the throne, or of me. I am sorry.. When he moved forward declaring that The Witch King corrupts our people; unity is our only hope. You will be my queen! she used her powers to confine with roots not only Tyrion but his entire host. However when Alarielle in turn declared Here, in Avelorn, you shall take only what I allow, Morathi acted and the battle began.1a
Battle
Unrestrained and seeking to revenge herself on the Asrai, Morathi easily drew upon the potent Winds of Magic that flowed thickly through Avelorn. She conjured a black mist filled with tentacles that left withered grass and an army of skeletons in its wake even as Naieth and other Spellweavers tried desperately to dispel her magic. Although they managed to dispel the magic, three of the Asrai mages died, rotted from the inside by the magics they had unmade. Next the prophetess and the other mages sought to create a blessing to drive out Morathi’s poison from the still unconscious Everqueen.1d
Sisters of Slaughter lived up to their name and cut through the front lines, heading for Alarielle but they were confronted by Lord Daith decapitating the leading gladiatrix with a single flawless blow. He cut almost the entire troupe down but one who had feigned death rose up and slammed a dagger hilt-deep into his chest even as Araloth approached to aid him. Dying, he reveals to the Asrai lord that he was Vaul himself and that Lileath has placed you outside the web of fate, yet you remain innocent of the cycle you have avoided. She was always the favourite of my nieces, but watch her closely. Whatever she has told you of her plans, they will go much deeper.1d
The northern part of the battle saw Durthu and his Treemen pushing back the warriors of Ghrond before the monsters of Naggaroth were whipped into their. Although many treemen perished from fire or magic, they cut down many of the foe and Durthu himself proved unstoppable. Tyrion too had cut his way through the Wild Riders and now faced Orion in single combat, an echo of the battle in the heavens where Kurnous fought Khaine with Isha as the prize.1d
Orion fought hard but Tyrion was too much for him, Widowmaker not only inflicting many wounds on the king's flesh but shattering the Spear of Kurnous. Desperate, Orion grabbed Tyrion by the throat and hammered at him, denting the Armour of Aenarion but a retaliatory swing took one of his horns. A headbutt took Tyrion full in the face, and Orion half dragged the prince from his saddle before his rammed a fragment of his spear tip through the rent Imrik had opened in Tyrion’s armour into his flesh. Wounded but relentless, Tyrion remounted his steed and a final blow finished Orion, the hunter once more slain by the hand of the Destroyer.1d
As he died, Alareille finally roused herself, drawing on the vast power of Withelan to conjure magic far beyond even that of Morathi. The knights who had rejoined Tyrion were transformed into trees - only the Widowmaker preventing the same from happening to Tyrion himself. As the same began to happen to his infantry, Morathi was now the desperate one, crying out a a forbidden word that met the wave of transforming magic with the power of Khaine. The two immense forces met and both spells imploded with both their instigators falling stunned to the ground.1d
Aftermath
The body of Lord Diath Daith was returned to Athel Loren via the Worldroots Worldroots as the new trees of the forest began to feast upon the corpse-mulch of the fallen. Watched suspiciously by her Maiden Guard, Teclis met with Alarielle and told her that there was no hope for Tyrion and she must turn to Malekith.1d
