Longships are the main warships in the Norsca Fleets. [1]
Their crews are made up Thralls but [1a] they excel in boarding actions, with their decks packed with bloodthirsty warriors eager to wield their swords in battle. [3]
Longships also have a very shallow draft, enabling them to sail into very dangerous waters without grounding. [3]
Fighting Platform
On occasion the Norse will lash their longships together to form a makeshift fighting platform. [1]
Notable
- Trueflight: Erik the Lost's Longship. [2]
Norse Dwarfs
Equally valuing their shallow draft, modified Longships are used by the Dawi of the north. They reinforce the gunwhales with steel, install a Grubark rowing mechanism and mount a Breaker Cannon and have a crew of around 30 Dwarfs. [4]
